2019 Spring/Summer sports signup

If you will be participating in spring/summer training or competition, you will need to fill out the online signup sheet below.

It is EXTREMELY important that you sign up if you plan on competing, since our registration is due on April 17 and that only gives us 2 weeks of practice before it is due.

http://bit.ly/2019OSOSummerSports

It is very important to register, so that we know how many coaches/volunteers we will need.

The last day to register for competition will be Monday April 1, 2019, so please fill this form out as soon as you get it. You should receive an email confirmation after you submit the form.

Only those that sign up for COMPETITION will be registered for the summer games.

It costs Oxford Special Olympics money for every athlete and partner that is registered for competition, so if you register for COMPETITION and don’t show, or change your mind, then we will be out that money, which isn’t fair to anyone.

Sports:

Cycling / Swimming / Track & Field

Oxford Special Olympics will be training in three sports this Spring – Cycling, Track and Field, and Swimming – both Developmental and Advanced. Competition will be at the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games on June 7-9, 2019.

You may train in ALL of the sports (so long as they aren’t happening at the same time), but must select only 1 for competition, since the competition will be held simultaneously on the same weekend. If you sign up for competition, then you are expected to attend all of the practices for that sport. If you have too many unexcused absences, then you will be scratched from competition.

All of the pertinent information is included on the form, so please READ IT CAREFULLY.

If you have any questions about signing up, please feel free to contact Larry.

2019 Winter Sports Signups

It may seem a little early for winter sports registration, but we have to let Special Olympics CT know how many we will have training and competing.

Our Alpine sports registration is due to the State office by November 26, so that gives us about 15 days to gather all of the information.

Practices will be starting in January – please check our calendar of events for dates and times (www.OxfordSO.org). Competition will be BOTH Saturday February 23 and Sunday February 24, 2019. If you are unable to make either or both of those days, then you should select “TRAINING ONLY”.

Unified Partners and coaches please sign up also, so we are sure we have enough help and that you will be registered

Coaches: if you plan on helping at competition, please select “COMPETING” on the registration forms.

You may train in multiple sports, but since the competition is on the same weekend, you will have to choose ONLY 1 sport to compete in. If you would like to train in multiple sports then you will need to fill out both forms if that is the case.

Please select the sport you will be training/competing in from the links below:

  1. Alpine -> http://bit.ly/2019OSOAlpineSkiing (This form NEEDS to be filled out by November 25th – there will be NO LATE ENTRIES)
  2. Snowshoe/X Country -> http://bit.ly/2019OSOWinterSports

Depending on the number of Slots/Lift Tickets we are allotted, there is no guarantee that you will be allowed to “TRAIN ONLY” in Alpine. (We also need to make sure we have enough coaches for each sport.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact LarryD@OxfordSO.org
