OSO Practice

OSO Bowling Signup

Just 1 week left to signup for bowling.

We REALLY need to know how many we will be having, so Partners and Volunteers please sign up also.

We have to know how many lanes we will need, so if you don’t sign up, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO BOWL the first night. It’s VERY important that we know how many bowlers and partners we will have.

If you have already signed up, you don’t need to do it again, but if you haven’t, please do so.

We will bowl every Tuesday starting September, 27, 2016 at 6:15 pm until November 15, 2016 at Wallingford Bowl, 980 N Colony Road, Wallingford, CT

Thank You for understanding!

OSO Alpine Skiing

oso_ski
I know its still so warm outside, but Alpine Skiing is scheduled to start in just 3 weeks, and if you will be RENTING skis, then we need to get that started.

We will need height, weight and shoe size of anyone renting equipment this year. It will greatly speed up the process of getting in and out of Rentals if we can have all the information ahead of time and entered.

Please let Mo Doherty Blees know:
1) If you will be needing to rent equipment
2) If you are in need of a helmet (nobody skis without one, and if you do NOT have a helmet, you CANNOT go on the mountain – that includes Coaches)

Our registration has already been sent in, so if you previously registered for Alpine Skiing, then please let us know if you will be needing to rent equipment. (Rentals are free for any athletes already registered for Alpine Skiing)

Bowling Training begins

Bowling

We are back at MILFORD again this year beginning at 6:15PM. (AMF Milford Lanes – 1717 Boston Post Rd, Milford, CT 06460)

We will be bowling weekly ending on November 17, 2015.
There will NOT be a qualifier event this year.

There is a cost associated with bowling and a charge for renting the bowling shoes, but we have decided to keep the price affordable for everyone, and will only charge $3.00 which includes 2 games, and the shoe rental, and Oxford Special Olympics will pick up the difference. If this is a problem for anyone, please let MO know.

Fran Kupsik is the head coach and would like to know who is going to be competing in the the Fall Sports Tournament the weekend of November 21 and 22, 2015 – So please let Fran know at practice, so we can make sure you are registered for competition – you don’t have to go to competition, you can come and train with us every week without going to the tournament.
If you will be competing in bowling you MUST be registered, so please let Fran know – check the calendar on our website for dates (www.OxfordSO.org)

OSO Golf and Croquet practice

Golf and Croquet Training begin Tuesday, July 7 at Oxford Greens Golf Club, 99 Country Club Rd, Oxford, CT.
Practice will be held every Tuesday (until competition in September) from 6:00pm until 8:00pm – really until we get tired, it gets dark, or the coaches kick us out.

Open to all athletes and Unified Partners (must have valid registration forms filled out). No prior experience necessary; come learn or improve your skills. Volunteers always welcome.
Bring golf clubs if you have them, or we can provide some for you (limited availability).

There is NO COST, due to the generosity of Oxford Greens Golf Course donating the use of practice tees, practice green, balls, etc.

Please respect the few simple rules of the club.

Dress Code: Collared shirt, dress shorts, sneakers or golf shoes with no metal spikes. NO TEE SHIRTS, NO JEANS allowed!

Common sense prevails – No shouting or loud talking in vicinity of practice greens or tees – Golf courses are typically quiet for the concentration of the participants – No swinging of golf clubs off of the practice tees or without the direction of your coach. Listen to your coach!!

Croquet Practice will be held right at the Golf Course, concurrent with Golf Practice. Equipment will be provided. (I’m told there are no horses – that’s Polo.)
Same dress code, same rules of behavior, also no cost. Come give it a try!

  • Alternate Shot Golf Invitational – Saturday, Aug. 22, Orange Hills Golf Course (optional – THIS IS FOR GOLF PAIRS COMPETING AT THE GAMES)
